Amber is a specific accord, a warm resinous blend built mainly from labdanum, benzoin and vanilla. Oriental is the older name for the broader scent family, now usually relabelled amber by the industry, that also folds in spices, balsams and animalic notes. Are amber perfumes only for winter?

How do I make an amber fragrance last all day?

Apply to clean, moisturised skin on pulse points. If you want the trail to run into a second day, spray the lining of a coat or a scarf rather than skin. Keep it out of hair, where perfume alcohol dries strands and strips colour, and off pale fabric, since the dark resinous juices in this list can stain.
