Quentin Bisch

Quentin Bisch was born in Strasbourg in 1983. He settled on perfume at 11, after smelling Yves Saint Laurent Opium on his French teacher, but first took two master's degrees in performing arts in Strasbourg, directing musical shows as a student. A year assisting Michel Almairac at Robertet taught him the raw materials, and then Jean Guichard took him into the Givaudan Perfumery School. He composes for Givaudan in Paris, and sings and paints.

He runs five to ten briefs at once and tests on himself and friends. Ex Nihilo Fleur Narcotique (2014) made the Fragrance Foundation's indie top five, and Parfums de Marly Delina followed in 2017. Chloé Nomade, a 2018 chypre of mirabelle and oakmoss, won perfume of the year from Elle International's editors. He also made Mugler Angel Muse and Etat Libre d'Orange La Fin du Monde.

For Amouage he composed Decision, Guidance 46 and Purpose 50. At Parfums de Marly he followed Delina with Delina Exclusif, then spent three years with Julien Sprecher on Valaya: white peach and orange flower over musk, in a white bottle chosen to recall skin. He met Marc-Antoine Barrois in 2015 and composed B683, the house's first perfume, the following year; Ganymede lays mandarin and salty immortelle over mineral leather. He also made Maison Crivelli Hibiscus Mahajád, and Ex Nihilo has since issued his Fleur Narcotique as an extrait.
