Lucas Sieuzac is the third generation of a French perfumery family, and he knew by 18 that he wanted to compose. He was a pupil of Jean-Claude Ellena. His career took him to Florasynth in Paris and Grasse, Créations Aromatiques, Symrise in Paris and Cosmo International Fragrances in Miami. In April 2019, with more than 25 years in the trade, he joined Eurofragance as a senior fine fragrance perfumer on its team for the Arab Gulf market.
He keeps his formulas short and exact, gives every material a clear job, and likes to set classic ingredients against modern ones. From Ellena he kept a light, transparent hand. He was still young when he composed Amouage Reflection Man, neroli, orris and jasmine over sandalwood, cedar and vetiver, and he also wrote Amouage Jubilation 25 Woman, built on davana, labdanum, rose, frankincense and myrrh. His work has earned him a Prix Lalique.
Amouage Reflection 45 is his extrait reworking of Reflection Man at 45 per cent oil. Benzoin, pink pepper, clary sage, lavender, cardamom and juniper lead into the familiar neroli, orris and jasmine, now joined by angelica, tonka and vanilla, before vetiver, sandalwood, cedar, myrrh, frankincense and opoponax close it.
