An emotional botanist from Paris
Thibaud Crivelli was born in Paris and grew up between central France and Provence, in a family whose last three generations lived from Lebanon and Morocco to Vietnam and Australia. In 2006 he moved to China and spent more than ten years in Asia, the last stretch based in Hong Kong working for perfume brands and visiting the fields and markets where raw materials are grown and extracted. He calls himself an emotional botanist rather than a perfumer, and he founded the house in Paris in 2018.

Passion fruit in an oud forest
Each perfume starts from a real moment when a raw material turned up somewhere unexpected. Perfumers receive a brief with a moodboard of photographs, video and sound, and a project can run from a few months to two years. Oud Maracujá, by Jordi Fernández, comes from tasting passion fruit in a remote oud forest of stilt houses, and puts saffron and Turkish rose between the fruit and the wood. Hibiscus Mahajád, by Quentin Bisch, recalls hibiscus tea in a precious stones market; the name joins the Sanskrit maha, noble, with jade.

Givaudan naturals at 32 per cent
Both are extraits at 32 per cent concentration, built on naturals from Givaudan's ORPUR range: Laotian benzoin, Spanish cistus absolute and Indonesian patchouli in Oud Maracujá; Damascena rose absolute, vanilla absolute, spearmint and cinnamon oil in Hibiscus Mahajád. The formulas contain no animal materials, phthalates or colourants, and are never tested on animals. Natural materials vary, so the colour can shift from one supply to the next. Oud Maracujá was voted best niche perfume of 2024 by Fragrantica readers. The house is based at 280 rue Saint-Honoré in Paris.
