Ex Nihilo Decants and Samples
Ex Nihilo is a Paris house built on the idea that a fragrance should feel bespoke, an object of quiet luxury rather than a crowd pleaser. The compositions run cool and self assured, chic minerality and clean florals set against dry woods and modern amber. Nothing shouts. Everything lingers. This is the kind of scent wardrobe that rewards close range, the sort of thing a person keeps to themselves and lets others discover slowly, which is exactly why it is worth trying on skin before you commit to a bottle.
Every decant here is poured from a bottle we bought at full retail directly from the house, never the grey market. We fill to order with lab grade Socorex syringes, in the real sizes you see on each page (commonly 1ml, 2ml, 5ml and 10ml), and each one is measured and sealed the same day it ships. You get the genuine juice, freshly poured, so you can live with it for a few wears before deciding on a full bottle.
The Ex Nihilo range
- Blue Talisman Extrait. A luminous, protective kind of scent that opens juicy with pear and bergamot, warms through orange blossom and jasmine sambac, then settles into soft amberwood that stays close all day. From $17.
- Brompton Immortals. Dark, dressed up rose. Saffron and pink pepper crack open with a dry metallic heat before Bulgarian rose and jasmine sambac pull it inward and hold it there. An evening scent with real presence. From $19.
- Fleur Narcotique Extrait. The cult white floral turned richer and more intimate. Litchi and osmanthus lift into peony, orange blossom, freesia and jasmine, glowing and musky on the skin. From $25.
- Outcast Blue Extrait. Smoky and nocturnal. Saffron and black pepper give way to a cool lily of the valley, then a deep base of oud, tobacco and vetiver that reads like leather and low light. From $25.
- The Hedonist Extrait. Bright then brooding. Grapefruit, bergamot and a bite of ginger cut first, before akigalawood and cool lychee lock into patchouli, vetiver and tonka that darken through the hours. From $25.
- Brompton Immortals Extrait. The Immortals rose taken to extrait weight. A densely floral core of jasmine and Bulgarian rose anchored by olibanum and patchouli, wearing like formal dress that grows more intimate as vanilla and white musk draw it to skin. From $25.
- Gold Immortals Extrait. The warm, gilded one. Bergamot and pear open bright, peony softens the middle, and amber, tonka bean and vanilla pool into a plush gourmand drydown. From $25.
How to start
New to the house, start with a single 2ml of whatever pulls you first, wear it a few times and see how it settles on your skin. Curious across the lineup, build a small set of 2ml and let a favorite emerge. Once one keeps finding its way back onto your wrist, size up to a 5ml or 10ml, or go for the full bottle with confidence.
