Ensar Oud - Kyara de Kalbar

Three Bornean ouds anchor this fragrance, with kyara at the center: the rarest grade, resinous and cool, threaded through with wild fig, orris, and a bruised-fruit opening of black grape and persimmon. It is dense, deliberate, and built entirely around wood that most perfumers never touch.

The Nose

An Ensar Oud composition from the artisan agarwood house of master distiller Ensar Oud, who hand-distils and blends his own single-origin oud and musk oils.

Fragrance Character

The opening is dark and jammy, black grape and blackcurrant pressing against the mineral edge of orris root before persimmon softens the contrast. Blue lotus and jasmine rise briefly in the heart, lending a faint aquatic sweetness that keeps the composition from sealing shut. Then the base takes over fully: three ouds, each distinct in character, Brunei, Malayan, and kyara, settling into a resinous, almost meditative drydown that sits close and cool against the skin for hours.
