Ensar Oud - Mongolian Musk

Mongolian Musk opens with the dry rasp of black pepper and cinnamon over dark, almost bitter carob, honey threading through the spice before the composition settles into its true subject: an earthen, animal musk anchored by Indian and Thai oud, two sandalwoods, and the fatty coconut-cream warmth of massoia bark. Pu-erh tea and ylang-ylang bridge the two registers, keeping the animalic base from tipping into pure wilderness.

An Ensar Oud composition from the artisan agarwood house of master distiller Ensar Oud, who hand-distils and blends his own single-origin oud and musk oils.

Fragrance Character

The first hour radiates heat, spice, and fermented sweetness, projecting with real force. As the top layer burns off, the pu-erh tea lends a damp, aged-wood quality while ylang-ylang softens the transition without sweetening it. The drydown belongs to musk and oud in close collaboration, barnyard and resin pressed together against sandalwood and massoia, wearing close to skin but leaving an unmistakable trace.
