Creed - Millésime 1849

Millésime 1849 opens on a single clean stroke of Calabrian bergamot before sinking into a dense, resinous core: ylang-ylang and jasmine threaded through patchouli and cedar, anchored by oud, sandalwood, and bourbon vanilla. It is a formal floral oriental, architecturally dark and warm.

Fragrance Character

The bergamot lifts sharply at first, bright and citric, then retreats quickly as patchouli and cedar claim the middle. Ylang-ylang pushes forward with a rubbery, almost narcotic sweetness, held in check by the dry woodiness beneath. On the drydown, oud and bourbon vanilla merge into a smoky, skin-close resin that lingers with quiet persistence.

Best Worn

Best on a cool autumn evening or a winter night, when heavy air suits its weight and its darkness reads as deliberate rather than overwhelming.
