Russian Adam came to perfume through distilling. For years he sourced, chopped and cooked agarwood himself and turned out close to a hundred different oud oils, working under the Feel Oud name with Dmitry Bortnikoff as his partner. Areej Le Doré grew out of that work. Its first perfume, Siberian Musk, came out in 2017 as 100 numbered bottles and was gone within months.
He composes the Areej perfumes, mainly from natural materials, with a small amount of synthetics where a formula needs it. Some formulas use agarwood and sandalwood oils from the house's own production next to Afghan rose otto, wild Malaysian agarwood and legally sourced Siberian deer musk. Perfumes appear in numbered collections, and most cannot be made again once sold out, because the materials behind them are gone. Areej Le Doré Russian Oud, from the third collection, is a parfum built on a Choco-Borai oud oil with cocoa extract, castoreum and Siberian deer musk.
Areej Le Doré War and Peace and its companion War and Peace II both belong to the fifth collection. Al Majmua comes from the seventh, released in 2022, which carried the house's History of Attar idea into seven sprayable eaux de parfum. Areej Le Doré Nepalese Patchouli is the latest release.
