Nasomatto Decants and Samples

Nasomatto is Alessandro Gualtieri unfiltered. This is the house that treats a bottle less like a fragrance and more like a substance you keep behind glass, dense extrait concentrations that lean animalic, resinous, and a little disobedient. Nothing here whispers. A Nasomatto walks into the room as a smell first and a perfume second, which is exactly why it belongs in a sample vial before it belongs on your shelf. You want to live with one of these for a few wears, feel how it settles into your own skin and reads on the people around you, before you commit to the full flacon.

Every Nasomatto decant at Gouttes Rares is poured from a bottle we bought at full retail directly from the house, never the grey market. We measure each order to size with lab-grade Socorex syringes and offer the real decant sizes you see here, commonly 1ml, 2ml, 5ml and 10ml, then measure and seal your vial the same day it ships. The point is simple. You get to try the real thing, at a fraction of a full bottle, and only size up once you are sure.

• Black Afgano. Raw resinous smoke that reads almost illicit, cannabis and davana coiling into a dense heart of tobacco, oud and coffee, animalic and adhesive with a balsamic sweetness that keeps the dark from turning abstract. The cult one. From $19.
• Baraonda. The grainy burn of whiskey with rose surfacing beneath it, not softened but sharpened by the alcohol, then pressed close to the skin by ambroxan and musk like warm fabric. Boozy, romantic, nocturnal. From $19.
• Narcotic V. White floral absolutism, tuberose and jasmine wound together with lily and a current of spice, rendered in that characteristically dense, resinous Nasomatto weight. From $19.
• Micodelirio. Nasomatto at its most primal, a damp breathing forest floor of mushroom, black earth and moss, cut through with a green snap of fresh grass and an unexpected lift of ripe fruit. A natural vital delirium, and it wears like exactly that. From $19.

How to start

If you are new to the house, start with a 2ml of the one that pulls at you and give it a full day on skin. Curious across the board, build a small set and taste them side by side, since these scents diverge hard from smoke to whiskey to white flowers to wet earth. When one becomes the bottle you keep reaching for, size up to a 5ml or 10ml, or go for the full flacon with no guesswork left.
