Jimmy Bodin is a French perfumer with no formal training. He grew up in a modest home with a mother who loved fine perfume, and his house carries her name, Jousset, in her memory. His way in was a perfume he could not replace: he set out to decode it and taught himself how materials behave and how accords are built.
He and his wife Melis founded Jousset Parfums in 2020, and he makes its perfumes by hand in the house's own atelier in France. The house signature is Ultra-Gourmand, rich edible perfumes, though what he wears himself is strong oud. Jousset Accident à la Vanille began as a mistake in his lab, when vanilla met materials never meant for the same formula, and it sits among the house bestsellers with Jousset Le Gourmand and Jousset Ciao Bello Pistachio.
For the Romanian artist Adi ale Van he is the most frequent nose, credited on more than twenty perfumes. Adi ale Van Decembrie 89 recalls a child's village winter during the upheaval of December 1989, with apple and orange, hazelnut and vanilla bean, then rum and vanilla absolute. Adi ale Van My Judgement Day, a limited run of 75 bottles, is darker: lavender and black frankincense over grey benzoin, cistus, oakmoss, myrrh and labdanum.
