MDCI - Enlèvement au Sérail
Ylang-ylang and tuberose press close together here, their heady, almost narcotic weight anchored by vetiver and dark patchouli rather than left to drift into pure sweetness. Mandarin and bergamot open the air just enough before the florals take full possession.
The Nose
Composed by Francis Kurkdjian for MDCI, also behind Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540, Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male and Maison Francis Kurkdjian Aqua Universalis.

Fragrance Character
The opening is bright but brief: citrus lifts the ylang-ylang's banana-cream density for only a few minutes before jasmine, tuberose, and rose close ranks into a dense, powdery-white heart. On skin it wears with real presence at first, then gradually draws inward, the florals softening into sandalwood and vanilla while vetiver keeps the base from turning cloying. It finishes as a warm skin scent, faintly earthy and resinous.

Best Worn
Best suited to cool-weather evenings, worn when the occasion calls for something unhurried and a little opulent, by someone unbothered by attention.
Why the Enlèvement au Sérail Decant
The tuberose-ylang core is dense enough that the full bottle commitment is a significant ask before knowing whether your skin chemistry keeps the vetiver in balance.
