Xerjoff Decants and Samples

Xerjoff is Italian maximalism worn on skin. These are perfumes built to fill a room and hold it, glossy and confident, the kind of scent that reads as an entrance rather than a whisper. There is a lot of sweetness and a lot of polish here, but underneath the shine sits real craft, and that gap between the loud first impression and the way a composition actually settles over an evening is exactly why the house rewards sampling before you commit.

Every Xerjoff decant we pour is filled from a bottle we bought at full retail from the house, never the grey market. We measure each order to size with lab-grade Socorex syringes, offer it in the real decant sizes you see here (commonly 1ml, 2ml, 5ml and 10ml), and seal it the day it ships, so what reaches you is fresh and exactly what the house intended. It lets you live with a scent for a few wears and know it before you ever pay for a full bottle.

• Naxos. A honeyed tobacco warmth that starts bright with lavender and citrus, then pulls close into cinnamon, vanilla and tonka that lingers for hours. The one people reach for again and again. From $13.
• Alexandria 2 Anniversary. The dark, ceremonial end of the house, opening on Bulgarian rose and spice before turning to oud, civet and amber and drying down to sandalwood and musk. A statement for the evening. From $24.
• Erba Gold. Sun-warmed citrus and spiced orchard fruit, melon, pear and green apple threaded with cardamom and clove, resting on Madagascar vanilla and amber. Bright, easy and daylight-friendly. From $16.

How to start

Start with a 2ml of whichever pulls you in, and if you are torn, a small set of all three is the fastest way to map the house from its sweet gourmand core to its darker oud side. Wear each one across a full day, note which bottle you keep reaching back for, then size up to a 5ml or 10ml of that favourite before you decide on anything larger.
