A college project in Muscat

Oman Luxury began in Muscat in 2012, while its founders were still at college. Muatasim Al Hinai, now managing director, and Muadh Al Sinawi, who runs the commercial and marketing side, set out to build an international perfume brand that reads as Omani in every detail. In 2017 the house took Perfume of the Year and Best Marketing Campaign at the Fragrance Foundation Arabia awards, and in 2018 it won the Sultan Qaboos award for best enterprise in the commercial sector. It has also shown at fragrance fairs in Italy.

From Dhofar frankincense to Caden

The house draws on the country itself: frankincense from Dhofar, the rose terraces of Jabal Akhdar, desert and coast. Royal Incense recalls the old incense and spice trade, and Khanjar is named for the Omani dagger. Caden, from 2025, turns to hospitality. Its name means companion, and perfumer Maxime Exler built it on saffron, cardamom, cade and a boozy accord over suede, coffee and benzoin, settling into tonka, vanilla, labdanum and guaiac wood. It was named Niche Fragrance of the Year at the 2025 Beautyworld Middle East Awards.

Made in Muscat, capped like a kumma

Production stays at home: the perfumes are made in Muscat from raw materials brought in from Europe and Asia, and the company runs a facility in Rusayl. The bottle carries three pieces of Omani dress and craft. The cap follows the kumma, the embroidered cap Omani men wear; the neck copies the curves of traditional silver jewellery; the silhouette comes from traditional clothing. The brand now sells through more than 550 points of sale in over 50 countries.
