Apricot: Velvety, plush stone-fruit, sun-warmed and honeyed with a slightly fuzzy tartness; soft, golden and nectar-sweet.
Ash: The cold grey aftermath of fire, dry, mineral and dusty, with a faint charred bitterness and the ghost of extinguished smoke.
Atlas cedar: Resinous and slightly sharp, pencil-shavings warmth with a faintly camphorous balsam; crisper and more austere than soft Virginia cedar.
Australian Sandalwood: Drier, sharper and more resinous than Mysore, with a balsamic-woody warmth and far less of the creamy, milky softness.
Barley malt: Toasted-grain sweetness with a faintly beery, biscuity edge, like a brewery's mash steaming on a damp morning.
Basil: Crisp, peppery green herb shot through with sweet aniseed and clove, snapped fresh from the stem; a lively aromatic lift in fougères.
Bay Leaf: Dry, resinous herb with a warm spiced-clove undertone and a cool eucalyptus edge, like a simmering pot just lifted off the heat.
Beeswax: Honeyed warmth with a faintly powdery, hay-like animal hum, rounded and golden; lends body and sweetness to florals.

Guaiac Wood: Smoky, tarry wood softened by a sweet rose-and-vanilla glow; oily and resinous, lending leathery warmth to bases.
Guatemalan Cardamom: Bright, aromatic cardamom with a cool eucalyptus snap and lemony-camphorous lift, cleaner and greener than its earthier Indian counterpart.
Guava: Juicy tropical sweetness over tart green skin, with pulpy pink flesh and a faint sulphurous funk; bright and watery-fruity in fragrance tops.
gunpowder: Acrid, sulphurous smoke and hot flint, a metallic spark over a singed mineral edge; the dry crack of a spent match.
