Ensar Oud Decants and Samples
Ensar Oud is what happens when a house treats agarwood the way a vintner treats a single hillside of old vines. These are dense, slow, deeply serious extraits built around aged ouds, grey ambergris, and animalic musks that most people have only read about. Wear one and the room changes. A drop blooms for hours, shifting from smoke to resin to something warm and skin close, the kind of scent you notice on yourself at midnight and again the next morning on your scarf. It is exactly the sort of house that rewards sampling first, because the raw materials are rare, the compositions are opinionated, and a full bottle is a real commitment. Trying before you buy is not a compromise here. It is the smart way in.
Every Ensar Oud fragrance we carry is bought at full retail directly from the house, never the grey market, so what lands in your decant is the genuine juice. We pour to order with lab grade Socorex syringes into clean vials, in the real sizes you see here (commonly 1ml, 2ml, 5ml, and 10ml), and each one is measured and sealed the day it ships. You get to live with the scent on your own skin, across a full day and evening, before deciding whether it earns a place on your shelf.
The Ensar Oud range
- Blue Kalbar. Cool blue cypress and lavender give way to gallic rose and thai blue lotus, a composition that feels both airy and resinous at once. From $44.
- Mongolian Musk. Dry black pepper and cinnamon rasp over dark, almost bitter carob, with honey threading through before a deep animalic musk settles in for the night. From $42.
- Borneo Trifecta. Malayan and Papua ouds anchored against a deep chord of Tonkin and Tibetan musk, an oud composition of real geographical ambition. From $42.
- EO2 Tonkin. Opens on an almost electric collision of Sichuan pepper and cumin, then settles into something older and animal that lasts and lasts. From $42.
- Kyara de Kalbar. Three Bornean ouds built around kyara, the rarest grade, resinous and cool, threaded with wild fig and orris. From $80.
- Jamaican Ambergris: Purple Sultani. Aged purple matured oud laid over decades old grey ambergris, at once oceanic and warm, the kind of depth that only real ambergris gives. From $90.
- Oud Sultani: Kannan Koh. A dense, smoke laced purple pressing of violet leaf, castoreum, and crimson jasmine wrapped around some of the rarest aged agarwood on earth. From $90.
- Purple Rain: Überblau. A bright opening of blueberry, cherry, and grapefruit that iris and white carnation pull toward something cool and composed. From $90.
How to start
Pick one that speaks to you and start with a 2ml, enough to wear it properly across a few full days and see how it lives on your skin. Curious about the house as a whole? Build a small set of contrasting styles, one bright and floral, one dark and animalic, and compare them side by side. When a scent becomes the one you keep reaching for, size up to a 5ml or 10ml, or go for the full bottle with confidence.
